As a Solutions Engineer at Distology, you’ll play a really important role in the Distology team:
• As a presales specialist for the technology vendor solutions and Distology cybersecurity specialism you work within.
• For the wider non-technical teams at Distology & our IT Channel partners, as an educator who simplifies your technology topics.
• With our partners’ customers supporting them through their solution selection journey, working closely with the technology vendor SEs and professional services partners to support the project.
• And with our technology vendors (supporting them to become part of our cybersecurity story & by listening to their needs).
Our Solutions Engineering team is focused on bringing advice and guidance to our channel partners and their end customers to secure their digital presence across the users’ workspace, across multiple, cloud-based platforms and in supporting the customer to manage it all in IT operations. It doesn’t matter to us whether you’re an expert in cybersecurity today, but we do need you to know your role in the presales phase well – and we really want you to be excited to continuously learn and then passionate to educate others about it!

What we expect you to do and achieve in the role:
• Grow to be a subject matter expert in your technologies and, by working closely with your colleagues, you’ll also build a working understanding of the solutions across our portfolio in workspace security, multi-cloud security and cybersecurity operations.
• Problem solve and make recommendations bespoke to partners’, vendors’ and end customers’ needs.
• Play an important role in the sales cycle, supporting our sales account managers, vendor managers, and channel partner teams with the combination of your personality and your technical expertise, including providing product presentations and product demonstrations, and solid technical solution consultation.
• Build a great professional network within your partners, vendors and end customers.
• Create technical demo environments to showcase your technologies to both customers and partners – interworking the solutions where relevant.
• Work with our sales, alliances, services partners & our vendor partners’ sales and SE teams to help enable partners to sell and demonstrate Distology’s solution portfolio.
• Obtain and maintain required product and supplier certifications.
• Work both within the SE team and independently to support and challenge each other with personal and professional progression in mind.
Experience we need you to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar degree), relevant courses (such as CompTIA, CISMP), or a minimum of 1 year in an SE role, or 2 years in IT/teaching/instruction roles.
• Understanding of cybersecurity technologies and best practices.
• Experience of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory and Office 365.
• Experience working with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and /or Google Cloud Platform.).
• Experience in delivering technical presentations or training to a variety of audiences.
• Experience in delivering technical demonstrations to a range of audiences.
• The ability to talk around a technical subject with a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience that we would like you to have:
• Exposure to any cybersecurity solutions via learning or work.
• Network security knowledge.
• A thorough understanding of IT infrastructure.
• A thorough awareness of the modern IT world including cloud (SaaS, PaaS & IaaS) and on-premise technologies.
• Real world experience in working in a presales role for at least 1 year.
